Amir Jangoo and Roston Chase drive West Indies to a rare dominant victory with old Caribbean flair

Image
ICC World Test Championship The two-match Test series between West Indies and Sri Lanka kicked off in Antigua with a massive innings victory for the hosts in three and a half days. Captain Roston Chase finally tasted his first success as captain of the Test team after eight failed attempts winning the match by a margin of an innings and 217 runs totally decimating the visitors who were playing their first Test match since June 2025. Kemar Roach in his 89th Test match, became the fifth West Indian and 41st overall player to take 300 wickets in Test cricket. Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph who returned to the longest format post an injury lay-off in late 2025 took 4 and 3 wickets respectively. However, the match will be remembered for a 233 by 28-year old southpaw Amir Jangoo who also scored a hundred on ODI debut and was a Fpart of only his second Test match. Captain Roston Chase also scored a mammoth 194 in a 401-run partnership, the highest ever for 6th wicket in Test cricket. Jangoo...

Highlights of the Group Stage from ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026

ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 The Group Stage of this year's Women's T20 World Cup is finally over giving us our eventual four participants who will compete in the Knockout Stage to decide the ultimate champion. Hosts England and West Indies advanced from Group B while Australia and South Africa topped the tougher Group A. You can check out the previews of Group A and B where I predicted the final four teams correctly before the start of the tournament.  This was the first time 12 sides competed in any ICC Women's cricket tournament giving us many memorable moments in a highly competitive WT20 World Cup edition. Although the favorites proceeded to the next round without breaking a sweat, the quality of cricket was much better than what we have seen in the past competitions. Countries like Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland gave their opponents a scare whereas West Indies and Sri Lanka combined to dump defending champions out of the competition at the initial hurdle. Bangladesh intent on continuing their outstanding form in 2026 against buoyant Zimbabwe

Image
Bangladesh tour of Zimbabwe A fierce Bangladesh cricket team is embarking on a first away tour this year after touching down in Zimbabwe for a one-off Test, 3 ODIs & 3 T20Is starting this Sunday. Bangladesh are slowly becoming a complete cricketing side in at least the longer formats but this year they have been absolutely remarkable. Always a force to reckon at home, the sub-continent nation has lost only one series this year in all formats. Brushing aside the heartbreak of not playing in this year's T20 World Cup due to political reasons, Bangladesh cricket team has won ODIs by a margin of 2-1 versus Pakistan, New Zealand & Australia followed by a 2-0 Test series win versus Pakistan, a 1-1 draw in the shortest format with New Zealand but lost their previous T20I series 0-3 to Australia, albeit all at home in the past three months. The impressive part of this run has been the successful transition post the absence of the golden generation in Bangladesh cricket. Only Mushiq...

Return of Ben Stokes adds spice to an already exciting Trent Bridge decider

Image
ICC World Test Championship Trent Bridge will be the sight of the final battle between England and New Zealand this summer when they go against each other on Thursday in the decider of this three-match series. England took the lead by winning the first Test at The Lord's Cricket Ground by 115 runs and New Zealand responded back at The Oval by sealing an emphatic 253 run win and levelling the series 1-1. The whole tour has been surrounded by it's fair share of controversies, axing and recalling of personnel, shock retirements and criticism of the playing surfaces making this a memorable clash between two passionate cricketing nations.  The biggest news that came in before the start of this Test was the recall of captain Ben Stokes and right-arm pacer Gus Atkinson, both of whom were dropped for the previous fixture in the wake of a nightclub incident with a local ruby team. Once the news of this occurrence broke out, it caused a huge furore in the cricket community creating enorm...
