ICC World Test Championship Australia are currently visiting the place where they faced major humiliation 8 1/2 years ago thanks to Sandpapergate, a ball-tampering scandal which rocked the whole cricketing fraternity. With the series tied at 1-1, Australia were falling behind in the third Test match at Newlands, Cape Town when Cameron Bancroft pulled out a yellow Sandpaper from his pocket and tried to alter the condition of the ball with a plan to force reverse swing. The whole act was caught on camera, leaving the visiting group embarrassed by a proper brainfade moment. Bancroft who carried out the whole scheme was banned for 9 months whereas David Warner the mastermind and the incumbent captain Steve Smith were given a one-year ban. Coach Darren Lehman also lost his job and was succeeded by Justin Langer. Cricket Australia appointed Tim Paine as their next red-ball skipper in the middle of the series. Warner has since made a comeback to the side and retired from International cricket...

ICC World Test Championship England wrapped their home summer with another dominant one-sided victory, eventually sealing the three-match series   with a 3-0 margin. Joe Root has began his second term of captaincy with a huge statement, white-washing a despondent Pakistan team without breaking a sweat. England won the final clash by 8 wickets as the visitors eventually showed heart in their concluding innings with the bat on this dreadful tour. Ollie Robinson was named Player of the Series for taking 21 wickets at an unbelievable bowling average of 8.76. The hosts were rarely tested in all three departments by the Pakistanis who endured a terrible series, leaving the country with a sixth whitewash in the past 12 occasions. 5 of the top six run-getters were from England, whereas the trio of Robinson, Tongue and Archer combined for 52 of the 58 wickets Pakistan lost in total. They will now consider themselves in a much better position than they were two months ago in the lo...

PCB produces a clownery show, pushing the team in further turmoil

ICC World Test Championship Cricket has historically seen many wars between the boards and the players due to various reasons. South Africa was banned from cricket in 1971 due to their players protesting against the apartheid government only to return 21 years later once things got better. Zimbabwean cricketers Henry Olonga and Andy Flower once famously used black armbands in order to stage a protest against the government in the 2003 Cricket World Cup which led to their exclusion from the country. West Indies players have battled their own board on various issues of pay disputes, contract disagreements and disrespect from the management. Such fights have been quite common in Pakistan cricket for years now still, things have never taken such an ugly turn. The PCB has taken some horrible decisions in the past but this time they have outperformed themselves. The national board of cricket in Pakistan decided to remove seven players from the original squad which was named for the three-mat...

ICC World Test Championship A despondent Pakistan cricket Team was crushed by England in the second Test at Lord's by 194 runs to secure the three-match series with back-to-back wins. England lead the series 2-0, their first series victory since December 2024 versus New Zealand away from home which they won 2-1. Joe Root has made a terrific start to his reappointment in the captaincy role led by his four pacers giving them their fifth-straight victory at the Lord's cricket stadium. Ollie Robinson was awarded his third successive Player of the Match award and has now completed 23 wickets in 3 home games this summer with a bowling average of 8.34 and currently averages 7.18 with the ball in this series, the sixth-best for a player with a minimum of 10 wickets who has been part of more than 1 match in the series. Pakistan's troubles continue to mount with their 10 loss in the past 11 away fixtures. Boosted by Babar Azam's return, the visitors won the toss and chose to bowl...
