Starc floors Bangladesh and brings them crashing back down to earth

ICC World Test Championship We all can finally take a deep breath!! What was that Mackay? The second Test between Australia and Bangladesh lasted a little over five sessions, 750 balls to be precise with Australia claiming an innings and a 51-run victory to level the series 1-1. The blistering Mitchell Starc wrecked havoc on the Bangladesh batting lineup, breaking plenty of records on the way to his fourth career 10-wicket haul, winning both Player of the Match and Player of the Series awards in the process. Pat Cummins corrected his decision from last game by winning the toss and opting to bowl on a rapid Mackay pitch which had extra bounce and more pace than Darwin. The 36-year old left-arm pacer from New South Wales unleashed chaos with his opening spell, leaving Bangladesh 12-5 in 6.4 overs as they eventually folded for 64, their fourth lowest total in cricket. 18 wickets fell on Day 1 and 12 more on the second, making this the second shortest Test ever, Downunder. Bangladesh's chance to break new ground and leave the Australian batting with permanent scars

ICC World Test Championship Bangladesh’s victory at Darwin flipped the whole script on a historic tour against one of the toughest opponents in cricket when they defeated Australia comfortably by nine wickets, dominating the whole game from ball one even after losing the toss. However, the signs of improvement Bangladesh cricket has shown in recent times doesn't make this outcome a total surprise. Their investment in the fast-bowling development coupled with preparing healthy playing surfaces has enabled the Asian country to build a worthy pace-bowling unit. A lot of work has gone behind-the-scenes, not only in the bowling department, but also the progress shown by their batters which finally resulted in this historic moment. They will now be hoping to do the unthinkable i.e., winning the final clash of this series and white-washing Australia at home, a feat that no one has achieved since 1887.  For the hosts, this should serve as a wake-up call and a reminder to the batting unit t...

Bangladesh write the script others couldn't dare to imagine

ICC World Test Championship Sport is generally filled with days following a normal routine where nothing exciting happens. Then there are days which stand-out to be remembered forever giving the fans immense joy when their team does something unimaginable. Bangladesh's maiden Test win in Australia on Sunday falls in the same category. For years, countries used to be scared to play the mighty West Indies and face their terrifying fast bowlers as the Caribbean side dominated cricket for years. The mantle was then passed onto Australia who became the "Invincibles" in both Men and Women category. Their superiority has continued in the longer formats until now and only a handful countries have managed to dominate the Aussies in their own den. Playing in Australia is considered as one of the toughest assignments in cricket. Barring South Africa under Graeme Smith & Faf du Plessis and India during the 2017 and 2021 tours, no other team had achieved a Test series victory in A...

Australian bowling quartet returns as Bangladesh make a visit Downunder after 23 years

ICC World Test Championship Bangladesh have arrived on the Australian shores for a two-match Test series starting on Thursday. This is just the second time Bangladesh will be playing red-ball cricket in Australia and their third-ever tour in the Aussie conditions across formats. The visitors have been struggling with a few injury concerns mainly in the fast-bowling department with their star speedster Nahid Rana ruled out of this tour and the left-armer Shoriful Islam missing the first Test. Litton Das was a late addition to the side but his presence for the first Test still remains under doubt. The hosts on the other hand have named their first-choice squad welcoming back their premier bowlers. Captain Pat Cummins returns after being absent bulk of the Ashes and the T20 World Cup 2026 with a busy one-year period ahead. The selectors also named both Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood but Michael Neser has suffered a calf injury in training forcing him to be out for a few weeks. Travis Head...
