History makers Kranti Gaud and Yastika Bhatia lead India to a dominant Test victory

Image
India Women of England India created history by winning the first ever Women's Test match at the Lord's Cricket Stadium by 270 runs and continue their unbeaten Test match run in England. The victory was headlined by India's batters and their pacers who completely out-bowled their counterparts in unfamiliar conditions. Kranti Gaud and Yastika Bhatia from India and Sophie Ecclestone from England became the first three Women to register their name on Lord's Honors Board. With this success, India now lead England 4-1 in 16 Women's Tests between these two teams. The historic occasion began with England's captain Nat-Sciver Brunt opting to bowl after winning the toss. All three pacers named in the final eleven were wayward and could not hit the right lengths in the morning session but still managed to prize out three wickets. Smriti Mandhana was in her elements and looked a million dollars but Shafali Varma and Yastika Bhatia were dismissed by two beauties. Varma was...

India try to put their World Cup disappointment behind in the first ever Women's Test match at Lord's

India Women of England There have been a total of 152 Women's Test conducted since the debut game in 1934, but shockingly none of them have been played at the "Home of cricket", The Lord's Cricket Stadium. India and England Women will create history when they face-off in the maiden Women's Test match at Lord's starting this Friday. India will be looking to move on from a poor T20 World Cup campaign where they were dumped out at the Group Stage whereas England lost the final to eventual winners Australia at home putting a heart-breaking end to an otherwise excellent journey. India Women has never lost a Test in England. They lead England 3-1 in 15 games between these teams and 2-0 in the 9 games hosted by England with 7 draws. India hold an overall record of 8-7 in 42 Tests whereas the hosts have mustered 21 wins and 17 losses in the 102 Tests they have participated in. 10 teams have participated in Women's Test cricket until now which includes the likes of...

Disappointments of the Group Stage from ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026

ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026 The Group Stage of this year's Women's T20 World Cup is finally over giving us our eventual four participants who will compete in the Knockout Stage to decide the ultimate champion. Hosts England and West Indies advanced from Group B while Australia and South Africa topped the tougher Group A. You can check out the previews of Group A and B where I predicted the final four teams correctly before the start of the tournament.  This was the first time 12 sides competed in any ICC Women's cricket tournament giving us many memorable moments in a highly competitive WT20 World Cup edition. Although the favorites proceeded to the next round without breaking a sweat, the quality of cricket was much better than what we have seen in the past competitions. Countries like Ireland, Netherlands and Scotland gave their opponents a scare whereas West Indies and Sri Lanka combined to dump defending champions out of the competition at the initial hurdle. W...
